The Helotes Central Fire Station provides fire protection for a rapidly growing community outside of San Antonio. Located near the existing City Hall and designed with the new Helotes Police Station, the buildings form a municipal complex with an interconnected master plan that better serves the needs of the public. The station is designed in a rustic vernacular of stone and other low-maintenance materials that harmonize with the existing buildings on the site and convey a sense of permanence and stability. Contemporary detailing punctuates the design and creates a municipal identity.
