Located in an affluent and rapidly growing area of College Station, Fire Station No. 3 is designed to harmonize with the surrounding residential neighborhoods and blend with the central Texas vervacular.  The building was designed with low-maintenance materials that convey permanence and stability,  The pitch roof with deep overhangs also reflects the local vernacular while reducing heat gain on fenestration openings.
