Roanoke 1| Roanoke, Texas | Details [+] |
To meet the city's burgeoning needs, Fire station No.1 will replace the old downtown Roanoke station to become the new home for the city's EMS and fire protective services. The main goals of the project are to address the growth of the department efficiently and to shorten the response time of the station. With a nod to fire stations' past, the exterior will incorporate brick and cast stone detailing, arched apparatus bay doors with red lights, and a clock tower, within its limestone and brick facade. The design responds to the growth of the department while incorporating elements that hint at the proud architectural history of fire stations in general.
