Sited at the campus main entrance, the new 69,500 SF Music Building is designed to reflect the aesthetic and materials of musical themes, while acting as a gateway to the entire campus. The building design is centered on a two-level, 550 seat Performance Hall and a more intimate 80 seat Recital Hall. A two-story, light-filled lobby with full height patterned glazing along the south facade provides access to both performance spaces and serves as a reception space for performances. The exterior palate of brick, stone, wood panels and patterned glass are brought inside for a unified integration of materials. Educational spaces consist of music classrooms, administrative and faculty offices, and rehearsal and performance spaces. As projections for music majors continue to grow, the University has built a state-of-the-art music facility that has both education and performance facilities to satisfy current and future needs.
