While the existing 16,000 SF Senior Center was nearly sufficient in area, the current design and layout prevented the facility from using the space effectively.  The solution was a 3,000 SF addition for three multi-purpose rooms on the northwest  side of the building, affording ample views of the neighboring park.  The interior portion of the center was reworked to allow space for a new fitness area, a social space with coffee bar, and computer stations.  Administrators at the new reception desk have direct sight of all major activities for safety and security purposes.  The goal of these building improvements is to broaden participation by providing spaces conducive to multi-generational senior activities.
