The City of Victoria's Fire Station No. 4 is a blend of historic precedents with modern technology. Arched limestone openings reference regional historic buildings, while the training tower is reminiscent of an historic hose-drying tower. Victoria's proximity to the Gulf Coast necessitates rigorous hurricane protection. This goal was achieved using tie-downs at trusses, removable, resilient metal panels at windows, and a double door system to protect against high winds and hurricanes. The combination of these features ensures that Station No. 4 will be a highly functional and attractive addition to the City of Victoria.
