Canyon Lake Fire/EMS Station No. 5 is a 7,600 square foot facility set in the rolling Texas hill country, a landscape and setting which inspired the aesthetic of the building. With local stone, heavy timber trusses, large dormers and deep overhangs, the facility seamlessly integrated into the surrounding context. The station houses seven full-time fire fighters, two double deep pull through bays with support spaces, as well as watch room, day room, kitchen and weight room. The sleeping quarters are located on the second floor, which rise above the roof plane in the form of dormers to allow for maximum usable square footage.
