The oldest ball fields in the city lacked adequate parking, concessions restroom facilities, and overall functionality. A new restroom and concessions building was sited away from potential seating areas and adjacent to the new park entry plaza. The building form expresses the spirit of the time, while responding to the era of the park's beginnings. The metal "butterfly" roof conveys motion, while the stone cladding anchors the building and provides durability. Using a high-strength polycarbonate as clerestory, the interior is naturally lit during the day, and glows as a beacon at night. The redevelopment of this park has improved the ball game experience, as well as the image of the community as a whole.
