Located in an affluent and rapidly growing area of College Station, Fire Station No. 5 is designed to harmonize with the surrounding residential neighborhoods and blend with the over central Texas vernacular environment. The building was designed with low-maintenance materials that convey permanence and stability. The sloped composition shingle roof with deep overhangs also reflects the Texas vernacular and reduces heat gain on fenestration openings.
