The "Underground" was constructed in the 25,000 SF of the crawl space at the Student Center in the early nineties to accommodate meal plan students. The University's continued growth and desire to create an upscale dining experience on campus, strategically planned to modernize and entice non-meal plan students to the Underground. The varied ceiling treatment, lighting and finishes created small niches and various environments within the greater expanse of the space. By opening up the floor plan and expanding the space, the Underground was able to almost double its seating capacity and accommodate a new Game Room.
