The 140,000 SF Industrial Technology Center at Texas State Technical College in Waco was renovated to accomplish three goals: create an exterior image evoking the program of a technology center, in lieu of the original warehouse; define clear internal circulation and a central gathering space; address changing industrial technologies and replace aging building systems. The first phase involved renovating the facades and creating two main building entries aligned with the campus mall axis. The second phase improved machine and welding shops and classrooms to address changing needs and technology. The future third phase will renovate the western third of the building with offices and classrooms.
