Louise Wolff Kahn School serves 800 students and 75 faculty members, as well as a broad cross-section of the north Oak Cliff community of Dallas. Not only was the school conceived as a place for education, but also as a place for community gatherings. A public plaza, the outdoor terrace, a performance hall, and a natural amphitheater built into the dramatic sloping site are all elements that contribute to the building's role as a public place which emphasizes the importance of education and culture.
