Beginning with siting, form, and fenestration, the Inland Fisheries Regional Office has been designed with conservation and green building principles at its conceptual origin. Other conservation measures include choices in materials that help create healthier indoor environments, regionally-harvested and manufactured materials, including use of wheat straw- based structurally insulated panels, and limited site disturbance. The north facing office areas open to expansive views of the nature center property to the south. An entry deck provides a sheltered transition to the interior reception lobby, where educational exhibits illustrating Inland Fisheries' mission are displayed.
