Cedar Park is a rapidly growing suburb of Austin in the Texas Hill-country and a longtime client of BRW. The new 14,618 sq ft neighborhood station, is full of hill-country charm, featuring heavy timber trusses, local masonry, & a welcoming front porch. The new station is nestled among numerous oak trees on a 2.1 acre site. Upon entering the building the public will have access to a community room and public rest room while the rest of the station remains secure. The station sleeps 8 fire fighters in private rooms with an additional two officer suites offer command staff added privacy.
The open concept Kitchen and Day-Room have a vaulted ceiling, that showcase the heavy timber truss structure and fills the rooms with natural daylight from clerestory windows. The four pull-through bays are flanked by support spaces such as EMS storage, a dedicated turn-out gear room, and a weight room. The large weight room is equipped with an overhead door that opens out onto a patio, allowing for outdoor cross-fit type workouts. BRW has enjoyed renewing our relationship with the city of Cedar Park while designing this charming station and we look forward to many years of continued partnership together.
