The First Tee Learning Center, an established nationwide organization that offers specialized skills and education opportunities, is the next planned development within the Trinity Forest. While coordinating complicated site conditions, such as brownfield reclamation and floodplain restrictions, the team worked with the City, neighboring developers, and the project owner to assure the best outcome for all parties. The Learning Center itself is situated to capitalize on the site’s relationship with the golf course and creates a dynamic in which administrative services and educational areas relate to and frame outdoor learning areas.
The STEM suite is designed with the flexibility to provide both focused and intimate learning experiences as well as an open gathering space for events which may spill to the outdoor classrooms. The complex has been designed to provide highly specialized and varied learning environments in an extremely small footprint; active, stationary, independent and programmed. The location and inherent value of outdoor learning created the opportunity to provide an architectural character that is both honest in material and form.
