The Patrick & Beatrice Haggerty Center is home to the Meals on Wheels program which delivers nutritious hot meals to homebound ill, elderly and disabled persons in the Dallas County each day. Nestled along the bank of the old Trinity River Corridor and responding to the prominent Mockingbird Lane address, the 21,000 SF building is a visually identifiable building which encompasses an inviting presence within the surrounding context.

The plan is organized about a central gathering lobby that connects the exhibit area displaying the history and significance of the VNA mission to the showcased primary kitchen function. Views into the Meals on Wheels kitchen illustrate the activity and energy emulating from within. This visual interaction reemphasizes the VNA goal of fostering their commitment to serving the community. Support offices, classrooms, conference room and garden spaces adjoin the gathering lobby to the east. The board room opens onto the lobby and garden patio creating a multi-purpose hall capable of hosting a variety of volunteer and donor events.
