Located on a former Air Force Base, Waco’s Station No. 3 is right at home on the campus of Texas State Technical College. This modern station is directly adjacent to an active runway where Air Force One occasionally lands so therefore it houses a specialized Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) apparatus.

The 8,500 square foot facility has two bays for traditional firefighting apparatus and one ARFF bay with plans for future expansion of an additional ARFF bay. The fully glazed overhead doors display the activities of the fire station for the campus community.

A two-story support tower adjoining the bay area contains a report writing room, shop, exercise room and storage for firefighting gear, hoses and hazardous materials.

Eight private sleeping quarters, a well-equipped kitchen, and indoor and outdoor dining areas provide some of the comforts of home. Views of the runway are offered from the covered patio, and two smaller day rooms allow for simultaneous TV viewing and console game play.
