Fort Worth Independent School District employed BRW in the fall of 2011 to provide architectural services for eighteen existing facilities within FWISD, including several elementary schools, middle schools and one high school. BRW is currently working on a fast track process to visit, catalogue and document opportunities to provide improvements to these eighteen existing schools. The scope of work is extremely diverse in scale, type of work, and complexity. Documentation will be completed by the end of 2011 and bidding will take place. Construction and modifications can begin in the early spring and be completed by the start of the 2012-2013 school year in August.

Renovations and modifications range from exterior facade restorations, limited roof repairs, additional exhaust fan systems, interior finish updates, improvement to several auditorium spaces, and technology improvements. Other areas of specialization include acoustical improvements within band halls, drama departments and other performance type program spaces. Several projects involve replacement of existing ceilings and lighting systems that will not only provide aesthetic enhancement, but also improve energy efficiencies and the quality of light within these learning environments.
