BRW Architects, in collaboration with Cregan+D’Angelo Engineers, were members of the design team working on the implementation of the $42 million City of San Francisco Fire Department Earthquake Safety and Emergency Response (ESER) Bond Program. We worked directly with City of San Francisco Fire Department and Public Works in the development of Develop Design Guidelines and Space Standards and bringing over 15 years of experience to the team.
The scope of work included:
• Survey of the existing conditions and investigation of solutions that achieve a successful balance between durability, ease of maintenance, appearance, and cost.
• Component plans to serve as a space use standard for key operations
• Interior finish and material standards
• Equipment and furnishings space needs, utility and coordination survey
The final product of our work was a manual used to guide the design and rehabilitation of future SFFD projects ranging from small repairs to new facilities.
