TRINITY RIVER AUTHORITY HEADQUARTERS

The Trinity River Authority of Texas has long played a vital role in managing water resources across the region, but its Arlington headquarters had simply outgrown the organization’s needs. With an expanding staff and a growing responsibility to serve the public, the Authority needed a facility that could keep pace. BRW Architects was brought in to develop a master plan and conceptual design for an expansion that would make the most of 11.3 adjacent acres, turning a constrained campus into one built for the long term.

The design focuses on two equally important audiences: the staff who work there every day and the public the Authority serves. BRW’s approach balances operational efficiency with civic openness, planning for additional offices and crew preparation facilities alongside updated spaces for large public meetings. Rather than simply adding square footage, the design rethinks how the campus functions as a whole, creating a layout that supports both the day-to-day work of the organization and meaningful community engagement.

The result is a forward-looking campus plan that positions the Trinity River Authority for continued growth without losing sight of its public mission. By addressing current limitations while planning for future needs, BRW helped the Authority envision a headquarters that works as hard as the people inside it.
