Arlington ISD Elementary School Renovations

Arlington ISD’s renovation and expansion of Key, Pope, and Speer Elementary Schools was driven by a vision to create learning environments that are welcoming, efficient, and equipped to support students for years to come. BRW Architects led all three projects simultaneously, applying a cohesive design approach while responding to the unique character and needs of each campus community.

The work extended beyond the immediate scope of construction. BRW partnered with Arlington ISD staff to develop a long-range campus master plan that positioned each school for future growth and evolving educational needs. The result was a series of campuses with enhanced functionality, safety, and security for students and staff. At Key Elementary, a signature design feature is the central atrium, where a tree-inspired structural column brings natural light into the heart of the building and creates an open, engaging gathering space for students.

BRW’s collaborative and forward-thinking approach delivered more than renovated facilities. The project provided three school communities with renewed identities, improved learning environments, and a foundation designed to support generations of students to come.
