The new Richardson Fire Station 3 is nestled in the heart of the Canyon Creek area of Richardson, between Canyon Creek Country Club and Prairie Creek Park. The use of cross gables and clerestory windows combined with soft color palate serves to remind the community the fire station is also a home. Designed with a residential aesthetic combined with an organic color palette, the station integrates seamlessly into the surrounding neighborhood. The three-bay station houses eleven sleeping quarters including lieutenant and captain’s offices. The watch boasts a custom red laminate and diamond plated desk. The kitchen is flooded with natural light from the clerestory above, and the day and dining room overlook an outdoor courtyard which leads into an exterior CrossFit training yard
