Michael joined BRW in 2015 and serves as Senior Interior Designer / Interiors Team Lead on BRW’s Design Team. As such, he draws upon his 40+ years of experience in all aspects of Interior Architecture and Design to create unique spaces for each of BRW’s clients. With an extensive background in Corporate, Civic, K-12, Higher Education, and Healthcare facilities, Michael has a uniquely rich project portfolio.

Whether he is creating period detailing which enlivens supportive workspaces or molding cutting-edge teaching environments, Michael brings his deep background and unique perspective to BRW’s transformative projects. His talent for envisioning healthy, creative spaces which prioritize the safety and well-being of users brings together planning, interior details, colors, and materials which are project specific and project appropriate.

Emily Murphy has been with BRW since 2015. She enjoys all aspects of design, from big picture ideas down to the smallest detail. She is a goal-oriented person and truly enjoys seeing a project complete but feels the most important thing is that the Client is happy with the final product as well as the process. Emily is passionate about communication and client relations, a few skills she believes she picked up while waiting tables during high school and college. Emily enjoys new challenges that different project types bring. From a young age she loved puzzles and problem solving. She finds learning new things to be one of the most rewarding parts of her job.

Claudia was born and raised in Chile and enjoys sharing the many wonders of her country, architecture, and culture. She enjoys traveling and learning from new cultures, she has an extensive bucket list in mind.
Claudia came to the US in 2005 and worked for 8 years in Curtain Wall and Cladding Systems prior to joining BRW in 2015 as a Project Coordinator for the K-12 team. She enjoys working in the education studio and is now focused on Dallas ISD projects. Claudia’s broad experience in technical fields and the development of projects thru construction documents and construction administration brings a lot of knowledge to the team. Working with others and achieving a common goal brings her joy. Her Woo personality and attention to detail are a great addition to the team.

Kenneth Smith as a child grew up around building and construction, he would visit construction job sites with his grandfather who was a labor man that would point out the different types of materials. His interest and passion blossomed from that experience which lead him to want to become an Architect. Kenneth brings a very diverse background and leadership in his 35+ years of experience in various types of projects, including commercial office buildings, elderly housing, fire stations, federal, K-12, and Higher Education, libraries, multi-family, restaurants, sports & recreational facilities, and single-family housing. As Project Manager, he coordinates all stages of any project, from preliminary design through construction administration. He provides strong leadership and organizational skills along with construction expertise to the project team, from marketing efforts to the completion of the project. He has a keen eye for detail and technical knowledge of how buildings go together, which makes him an effective leader in coordinating with the project team both internally and externally during the early design and entitlement stages as well as coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors during bidding and construction phases. This unique blend of experience along with the desire to dive into the details provides the flexibility and expertise to deliver the best possible project experience for the client and end-user.

This experience includes boutique funeral care design, large-scale retail and commercial, low and high-rise senior living, mid and high-rise mixed-use multi-family, and now civic and municipal design. Senior living became, and is still, one of his passions in the architectural industry as it ties wholly into one of his other passions…PEOPLE. Regardless of the sector or typology of the project, James has a heart for the end-user, the people that will inhabit the space once all the design and construction teams have moved on to the next project. James brings this same passion for people into his management style as a Project Manager and truly loves to build and encourage teams to pursue producing the best projects possible to serve the ones that will occupy those environments.

Debbie Smith joined BRW Architects in 2016 and has become an integral member of its operational strategy. With over 25 years of industry experience, Debbie demonstrates a high level of administrative competence, always seeking to improve the effectiveness and overall operation of the firm. Named as an Associate in 2022, Debbie is a seasoned professional and believes wholeheartedly in forging a personal connection with anyone who walks through the door. Always energizing with her truly charismatic personality, it comes as no surprise that her top five strengths are Positivity, Responsibility, Harmony, Arranger, and Achiever.

Dale was inspired to enter the field of architecture from teachers, professors, parents and grandparents that encouraged him to be the best at whatever he does. Life experiences and his salt of the earth upbringing have further tailored his expertise. Working directly in the construction field has given him firsthand construction opportunities that strengthened understanding from a contractor’s perspective. He joined BRW Architects in 2014 and serves a role in construction administration working in the federal studio. Through the years he has been heavily involved with all aspects of project development from design to final construction documents, and on through construction. Building relationships and trust with team members, contractors, and owners are of utmost importance to Dale. These relationships allow for open discussion and further team building to achieve the end goal of providing project excellence that we can all take pride in.

Meredith Hayford has always been a perfectionist with a love for design. She first obtained a degree in Interior Design and then decided that she was interested in all aspects of designing a building. She then went on to receive a Master’s degree in Architecture. Being involved in all aspects of design is the most fulfilling part of her job. The focus on designing Fire Stations at BRW is enjoyable and rewarding, especially with the fact that Meredith’s husband is a City of Bryan Firefighter.

Logan Lebeda joined BRW in 2019 after completing his master’s degree in architecture from Texas A&M University. He is an associate in the civic sector of the College Station office with a focus on fire station design. Logan’s years of previous experience in architectural design and project coordination help him thrive in his work today.
