In the works for over five years, Grapevine’s new Fire Station 2 serves as a gateway to a growing community. Though significantly larger and more contemporary than its predecessor, the new facility retains many of the original station’s favorable elements, including an abundance of natural light throughout the interior spaces and a homey atmosphere for its crew. Grand storefront windows and a spacious lobby provide a perfect showcase for the department’s antique fire truck and present a welcoming face to the community.
Grapevine’s proximity to a widely enjoyed recreational lake demands that the fire department maintains a dive rescue team. Station 2 includes an onsite dive tank to train and certify department personnel to respond to water-related emergencies. It is also home to the first-of-its-kind pre-hospital EMS simulation training room, which also accommodates the training needs of neighboring communities.
