Grapevine Service Center

After a tornado struck the City of Grapevine in December 2022, the Service Center—home to Public Works, Parks field crews, and Fleet Services—suffered extensive damage. Though temporary repairs allowed limited operations to continue in the vehicle bays, much of the facility remained vacant, highlighting longstanding operational inefficiencies and sparking a broader conversation about the site’s future.

BRW was commissioned to guide the transformation of the facility beyond simple repair. While the damaged roof structure was addressed through an early construction package, a parallel effort focused on understanding the evolving needs of city departments. Through targeted site visits and collaborative programming with Service Center leadership, BRW developed a space plan that clarified staff flows, expanded support functions, and improved long-term functionality.

The resulting design repositions the Service Center as a modernized, mission-ready environment. By resolving existing infrastructure gaps and elevating the daily experience for staff, the project reflects a forward-thinking investment in municipal services—one that aligns with Grapevine’s commitment to resilience, efficiency, and community service.
